My Ravenclaw garb at faire this year!


Details about this garb:

Ravenclaw Robe: The robe was made from McCall's pattern 4340. Shorted the length of it about 8 inches and added a point to the hood. The black fabric is cotton bottom weight. The blue lining is cotton broad cloth. The lining color is a bit off. I used a brighter blue, when it should have been a more navy blue to be like the movie, but I had a hard time finding Ravenclaw pictures before I went fabric shopping. The next one I make will have a navy lining. The Ravenclaw patch was purchased for me by a friend off ebay.

Uniform: The shirt, tie, skirt, and shoes I used to put the uniform together were all purchased at a thrift store for a total of $8. The wand was a gift from a friend.

I wish my Hogwart's robes would have turned out this nice (compliment!!!). I didn't use a liner in any of them, but they were all unique. I also failed to order patches in time so my friends and I used keychains with the house crests on them. We even had a convincing dementor for the book release party.

I've worn mine to two movies so far! I missed the last book party, unfortunately. But looking forward to wearing it to the last two movies, unless I get quidditch robes done by then! LOL! And of course it needs to make a trip to the ren faires at least once a year!

Nice costume! I rather like the brighter blue. The navys in the movies are a bit too dark, if you ask me...
