I had enough fabric left over from the first black lace chemise that I made to make a second chemise, so I did. This one is exactly like the first one, except the ruffle around the cuff is a bit longer.
Decided to try it on with my blackwatch scottish wench garb, and I like how it looks! I made the rest of this outfit as well.
Details about this garb:
Chemise: The body of the chemise is made from black broadcloth. The sleeves are made from a black lace I found in the fashion knits section. It's a fairly heavy lace and a bit stretchy. The pattern I used was Butterick 6196.
Bodice: The bodice is made with blue cotton duck and lined with it as well. It has 12 strips of 1/2 inch heavy duty zip ties for boning, cut to the required lengths and then rounded at the ends. It laces up the front and both sides with a total of 48 silver grommets. The pattern for this bodice is an altered version of a custom bodice pattern made for me by a friend. The bodice pattern is loosely bassed off Butterick pattern 6196.
Overskirt: The overskirt made from a blackwatch plaid flannel. It is a patchwork fabric of about 4 or 5 different variations of blackwatch type plaid all stitched together in small squares. That part I did not do, I just bought the fabric that way. But I did make the overskirt out of this patchwork fabric. It looks very befitting of a wench. The overskirt is from McCalls pattern 4090, which is actually for going over a hoop skirt, but I shortened the pattern to make it a wench skirt, but still have the hoop skirt diameter to make it nice and full.
Underskirt: The underskirt is made from black cotton broadcloth and also uses McCalls pattern 4090.
Bloomers: The blooomers are made from the same blackwatch plaid patchwork flannel as the over skirt and use Butterick pattern 6884.
Purchased pieces: Belt, rapier, and standard english riding boots.

I love it. I do have a question though--I've always wondered if lace clothing is period or not? Not that I'm trying to criticize if because I do think it's awesome.
